Overall Purpose of Role:

To manage the local payrolls for 14 countries and the Expatriate payrolls for a growing number of Expatriate staff.

Key Responsibilities

Management of outsource payroll providers for 14 countries, largest payroll is the UK with over 800 employees (outsourced from November 2013), other payrolls range in numbers from 5 to 35 and are all outsourced to a single provider.
Liaising with the HR team to ensure payroll instructions are sent to outsourced service providers in time for the cut-off dates each month
Reviewing the outputs delivered by the outsource provider(s) to ensure they are of acceptable quality and accuracy.
Monitoring on-going performance of the outsource provider(s) - escalating key service issues where appropriate.
Approval of payroll for payment
Act as a liaison for escalations between employees and the out-source provider(s) where necessary for resolution of issues
Management of the Expatriate payroll processing
Posting payroll to the general ledger for local and expat payrolls
Ensure both local and expatriate payroll journals files are correctly prepared and handed off to the general ledger / accounting team for upload
Assistance with monthly reconciliation of payroll control accounts

Essential Experience

CIPP
Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills (look-ups, pivot tables etc)
Managing payroll(s) for a multinational company
Vendor management (specifically payroll services)
Expatriate payroll for a large number of employees (50+)
Dealing with UK payroll related tax year end filings - P11Ds, P35/P14s/P60s, PAYE Settlement Agreement.
