Chief Financial Officer

Our client is an outstandingly successful c£90m turnover privately owned provider of technical services to the resource and mining industry worldwide. With a track record of profitable growth spanning many decades, this North West based Group operates in 35 countries, employing c2,000.  The business is now seeking a commercially focused Chief Financial Officer to partner the CEO in driving the ongoing development of this outstanding business.

The Role

The Group is run by an Executive board comprised of the Chief Executive and the CFO.  Reporting to the CEO, key responsibilities include the following:

• Strategy: Partner the CEO in formulating and implementing business strategy and driving the ongoing development of the business, providing relevant commercial and financial support and challenge;
• Commercial: Support Country General Managers, ensuring that local commercial decision making is effective, consistent with achieving Group strategy and that cost bases are optimised;
• Leadership: Provide leadership to the Finance, IT and HR functions;
• Teasury: Maintain control over Group Cash and Treasury management ensuring that risks are managed and that funds are able to flow around the business between geographic jurisdictions;
• IT: Work with the Head of IT to ensure that IT strategy is suitable for the current and planned scale and complexity of the business and makes best use of cutting edge technology;

• Experience in a multi-territory international business operating across diverse geographic cultures;

• Experience in a dynamic "middle market" sized business;
• A team player with outstanding people skills;
• A creative commercial decision maker with sound negotiation skills, able to think innovatively and strategically while keeping a handle on the detail;
• Sound knowledge of IT and systems.
