About the role
This is a challenging and high profile role, with a diverse range of responsibilities ranging from strategic implementation of financial policy to technical financial accounting. The AD Finance & Audit and will act as strategic finance business partner to the COO and Directors as they lead the business through this significant period of change while also acting as the technical expert responsible for delivering all aspects of financial accounting including the NMCs annual financial statement.

This role encompasses all aspects of finance at the NMC including financial strategy, planning and analysis, management reporting, treasury, pensions, financial control, audit and the production of the annual financial statements.

The role holder will provide leadership for a team of financial professionals to ensure the provision of high quality financial management, performance improvement, risk management and corporate reporting functions, financial and commercial services, advice, monitoring and control to enable robust business decision-making, planning and the maximisation of commercial focus and efficiency gains across the NMC.

About you
You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent with a professional accounting qualification. You will demonstrate credibility at the most senior levels within and beyond the organisation, with the ability to translate highly detailed or technical concepts to a broad range of senior stakeholders.

You will have a detailed knowledge of public sector and charity accounting requirements and a proven track record of delivering major organisational transformation and culture change. You will be influential, resilient and self-confident, happy to drive through change in the finance function.
