Detailed Job Description
For this Head of SOx and Internal Controls opportunity in Whitley (Warwickshire) you will lead the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Automotive PLC annual SOx Compliance and Internal Controls Programme. You will oversee the annual SOx assessment and global strategy for the SOx/ controls program at JLR. You will also perform internal and independent reviews and assessments of significant business transformation to ensure implementation of a robust control environment.
You will be responsible for effective oversight to monitor controls issues and deliver focused reporting of progress and status to the business functions, JLR Board and Audit Committee. You will perform independent assessments and control reviews of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with Company Policy and Sarbanes Oxley and other regulatory legislation, including COSO 2013, PSAOB and SEC. Coordination of the business controls team, process owners and management will be essential.
The successful candidate will also drive the controls assurance programs to provide a reliable indicator and metrics on effectiveness and efficiency of the control environment across the JLR group. You will need to ensure latest legislation requirements are met (SEC, PSAOB, UK Companies Act), as well as close alignment with the internal audit, IT and risk and compliance functions within JLR.
Candidate's Profile
For this Head of SOx and Internal Controls position at the Global Headquarters in Whitley (Warwickshire) you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or international equivalent) who has a successful track record within this specialist field. You must have significant experience in performing risk assessments and identifying associated controls across all areas of the business.
Proven relevant professional experience in Internal Audit is essential and SOx subject matter expertise is essential including the Sarbanes Oxley act 2002 (S.302, S.404), PCAOB Auditing Standards (e.g. AS5), COSO 2013 and IPE/ Spreadsheet testing). You must have recent SOx auditing experience in a senior management capacity
You will have an excellent commercial acumen and an in-depth understanding of Business Assurance and Controls. IT controls experience would be considered very advantageous. Due to the high profile nature of the role, you must possess gravitas combined with excellent influencing and communication skills and an ability to work at pace due to the rapid growth and significant business change.
