Operating at a strategic level and reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Head of Finance will play a crucial role in informing decision making at the highest levels and driving improvement and efficiency both within the finance team and across the organisation as a whole.  With oversight of 25 staff, the Head of Finance will manage financial operations, financial reporting and business support services for the Group, empowering colleagues to make financially-robust business decisions, as well as supporting income generation activities, and acting as financial lead on various SMG projects.

This newly-created post represents a fantastic career opportunity to contribute to the Science Museum Group’s financial success and to lead a best-in-class, customer focused finance team.  The appointed individual will be a fully-qualified accountant and will bring experience of leading a finance team, ideally within a large and complex organisation.  They will be a strong communicator and have experience working with non-financial colleagues to provide financial data that is relevant, consistent and immediately accessible, and possess outstanding project management and people skills.
