Robertson Bell Finance is working alongside an exciting, growing charity to recruit a Finance and Operations Manager. This organisation is dedicated to helping communities by supporting local businesses and is looking for a hands-on, experienced accountant to join their small but growing team.

This role reports into the Director of Finance and Operations and will be responsible for a wide range of duties including all financial and management reporting and is instrumental to the success of the organisation. There is a large element of business partnering included in this role, as liaising with budget holders across the organisation will be a key responsibility of this Finance Manager. Other responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting, reporting to key stakeholders and reforecasting.
  • Producing statutory accounts
  • Business partnering with budget holders and liaising with external providers
  • Working alongside the Director of Finance and Operations on projects
  • Liaising with the outsourced financial services provider and ensuring that their work is carried out accurately and meets deadlines.

Aside from the Financial responsibilities, this role also holds the operational responsibility for supporting all employees in their use of IT and working alongside the IT service provider to ensure effective use of IT systems. Whilst IT experience is desirable, it is by no means essential if the candidate has a can-do attitude.

The successful candidate will be proactive with practical experience of all elements of accounting and will be confident in their skills and is ready to take on responsibility. Fully qualified (CCAB), the ideal applicant will have had experience in the commercial sector and have a positive attitude. The nature of this role demands first-rate communication skills, this is absolutely essential as is the ability to get on with a wide variety of people.
