Accountant- Partner designate role

Our Ashford office is looking to recruit a senior accountant who is on the brink of taking the next steps towards partnership. This is an ideal opportunity to take on a leadership role in a well established and experienced 6 office practice.
The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in practice. The candidate will be an able technician with a desire to assist with the development of an office. Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to build strong relationships with staff and clients alike.
The main responsibilities for this Partner Designate role include;
Client development
Maintaining and developing excellent client relationships.
Promoting the full range of services that the firm offers to existing clients.
Assisting with developing the client portfolio through various methods such as networking, seminars and blogs.
Preparing and presenting new business pitches for the firm.
Technical expertise
The ideal candidate should be up to date with the latest changes to UK GAAP and the specific impact on owner managed businesses.
The candidate should be / aspire to be an all round business advisor able to respond to the needs of a diverse portfolio, including audit clients.
Good all round tax knowledge is essential.
Staff development
Assessing the training and development needs of more junior members of staff. Managing a team of fully and part qualified accountants.
Involved in the delivery of the appraisal process.
Office development
Take an active role in the day to day running of and development of the office.
Ensuring systems are efficient and keep pace with practice assurance standards and compliance as regulations change from time to time.
Responsibility for the financial aspect of managing a portfolio, including raising fees, and control of recoveries.
Importantly they will be motivated to take on additional tasks and to learn new skills which enhance both the practice's and the office team's ability to expand its service offering and make it more efficient and profitable.
