We’re a charity but, make no mistake, we have our fingers firmly on the financial pulse. Because every penny of our profit goes back into our vital work, it’s crucial that we’re operating an excellent and efficient financial service in order to achieve our vision.
The role
Joining us in this highly important role, you’ll manage our Accounts Processing, Payments and Customer Services teams who provide vital and high-volume accounts processing services to the organisation – keeping our properties operating smoothly, maintaining relationships with our suppliers and collecting cash from our many tenants and customers.
- It’ll be your responsibility to make sure everything’s running smoothly, to deadlines, and being processed accurately and compliantly into our newly implemented ERP system Agresso.
- You’ll be an experienced designer, implementer and improver of financial processes and a great motivator of large teams.
- You’ll monitor SLAs with our scanning partner Capita and regularly communicate with the business on matters of financial process and optimise ways of working.
- Relationships will be at the heart of your role. Not only will you support, develop and inspire your team but you’ll also develop strong links with our outsourced scanning partner, suppliers and colleagues across The National Trust to ensure their needs are being well looked after.
About you
- Thanks to experience of working in an accounts payable department, you’ll have an up-to-the-second understanding of the latest financial systems and a good knowledge of financial accounting principles.
- You’ll have – or are studying towards – a professional accountancy qualification.
- Naturally numerical, you’ve impressive Microsoft Excel skills and you’re confident analysing and reporting financial information.
- Accurate and thorough with impressive attention to detail, you’ll be confident working to tight deadlines but this will never compromise the high quality of your work.
- And with previous experience of leading, developing and managing the performance of a team, you know just how to get the best out of people.
- You’re approachable, personable and your communication skills – both written and verbal – are second-to-none.
- You understand the importance of customer requirements and pride yourself on building good relationships with everyone you work with.
