Reporting Accountant

£35,000 - £40,000 plus bonus and benefits 

SG Gaming; one of the UK’s leading providers of gaming solutions for the retail market is seeking an enthusiastic and analytical accountant to take up a 12 month, fixed term maternity cover position in its Chadderton based finance team.

We are seeking an individual who is ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified to support the financial reporting team for the UK sector of our global gaming business. Working within the financial reporting team of 6, this role offers a mix of technical & management accounting and commercial finance support. You will also be required to work alongside and support the Financial Planning and Analysis function. A key component of the role will be supporting the month end close process and to produce meaningful management analysis & reports.

The role involves extensive use of financial systems and Excel. Proficiency in accounting packages is essential, with Oracle experience desirable. Excel to at least intermediate level is essential. Previous exposure to US GAAP is not essential, though candidates will be exposed to this alongside UK GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with Inventory and Manufacturing colleagues to review stock and WIP.
• Completion of various month end reconciliations, postings and reporting to tight deadlines, for finance & non-finance colleagues.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, supporting schedules and management information.
• Provision of assistance and inputs for the monthly forecast and annual budget processes as required.
• Support the team in providing business sector reporting and analysis.
• Ad hoc analysis, project work and reporting to assist the Financial Controller/ FD/ Finance team in duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (QBE would be considered).
• Experience of delivering within a fixed and rigorous month end reporting cycle is essential.
• Excel to intermediate level is essential.
• Inventory and Manufacturing / Job Costing environment experience is highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge of one or more accounting packages is essential, Oracle is preferred.
• Experience of management and statutory accounts production is preferable.
• Experience of data manipulation and extraction is desirable.

The role would ideally suit a qualified accountant who has experience of working in a fast paced finance department within a manufacturing or costing environment.
