Director of Finance and Corporate Services

Middlesborough, Teeside

£51,372 - £56,670

Tees Valley Education Trust is a multi-academy Trust, recently established and already on an exciting journey. Its mission is to provide a high quality learning environment where young people can achieve excellent outcomes and thereby optimise their life chances and future employability.

Well regarded within local communities, its burgeoning reputation for sustainable success and consistently developing innovative programmes is gaining national recognition.

It is embarking on the next stage of development and is doing so in a planned and measured way such that its values, ethos and beliefs remain as strong as ever. To support this change, it needs an outstanding finance professional who, reporting to the Chief Executive, will provide strategic leadership and management for all aspects of finance and corporate services in the trust and its academies.

As a senior member of the trust leadership team, the Finance Director will provide sage advice to the CEO, Executive Board, Head Teachers and other senior management team members.

The role is broad. Together with providing an effective financial management service - including the provision of insightful, commercially-focused management information and analysis; enhanced budgeting and forecasting procedures; and effective working capital and treasury management - you will assume immediate responsibility for governance, HR, Public Relations, H&S and estates. You will provide strategic guidance on plans for growth and bring some innovation and creativity to income generation.

A graduate chartered accountant, you can demonstrate a track record of effective leadership in both strategic and operational finance. Whilst an understanding of school finances and available grant funding would be useful, candidates are invited from commercial settings as well as from education, public, or the third sector. Excellent in your own space you will be pragmatic, incisive, analytical and results orientated. Robust, wise and passionate and, of greatest importance is your fit with our ethos and beliefs. Your people and communication skills will be first rate.

You will join a high quality team committed to developing the Trust so that it impacts on educational standards and opportunities for young people both in the local community and nationally.

If you can meet this real challenge with confidence then in the first instance please email us quoting Ref: 205 and attaching a CV together with details of your current package.

The Tees Valley Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

The Tees Valley Education Trust is an equal opportunities employer.
