Assistant Financial Controller that reports to the Head of Financial Performance and will work across the business with finance and non-finance stakeholders for the provision of monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

Details about the Client

St Mungo's provides a bed and support to more than 2,500 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and works to prevent homelessness, helping about 25,000 people a year. They believe no one should be homeless and that people can – and do – recover from the issues that create homelessness. St Mungo's support men and women through more than 200 projects including emergency hostel and supportive housing projects, advice services and specialist physical health, mental health, skills and work services.

Detailed Job Description

If you are a qualified finance professional with a desire to develop your career in finance then this is a fantastic opportunity to join the St Mungo's Finance team in the newly created role of Assistant Financial Business Partner.

Working as part of a team of six you will be responsible for supporting operations managers in understanding and interpreting their financial results. Ensuring these operations managers have the information at hand to make informed financial business decisions is core to this. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and interpretation of monthly management accounts.
  • Supporting St Mungo's budget setting, forecast and management accounting activities.
  • Finance support to Operations and New Business in managing their financial performance and explaining financial performance to stakeholders.

Candidate's Profile

You will be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA quaified accountant with strong management reporting capabilities that can be evidenced through experience. The ability to work with large amounts of data and presenting it to a range of financial and non-financial stakeholders is also key to success within the role.

Good influencing and negotiation skills are essential as you will be supporting Operations teams in preparing and renegotiating for the renewal of existing contracts. Applications from all sectors are welcomed but experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines is highly beneficial.
