The SF Group are currently recruiting for a Governance and Compliance Manager with our Birmingham based charity client. This is a newly created post where you will work with the CEO and Finance Director to set the tone for compliance, policy & procedure and overall operational compliance. There will be focus on legal and regulatory compliance and ensuring there is a consistent approach in how governance is promoted internally and externally.

You will create and maintain effective records of board meetings/activities and ensure activities of all directors are logged (for example activity around training, gifts hospitality). You will prepare the schedules for 6 - 8 board meetings per year and manage the co-ordination of the Board calendar. You will lead on documenting the policies and procedure guidelines ensuring all senior stakeholders have the resources available to make educated business decisions. There will be general administration duties, such as minute taking, so applicants will be prepared to have full involvement in the end to end governance process.

The suitable candidate will have charity sector experience, be highly literate and be confident is acting as the focal point for all governance related questions. You will have had held a similar or senior post within the sector and understand the fluid challenges of working with the Board and charity trustees. The salary for this post is dependent on experience and the vacancy could also operate as a part time position. It is a possibility that a salary of £30,000 could be secured for part time working (and not on a pro rata basis). Experience of Health and Safety management would be an advantage.
