Following recent changes in finance, the business have identified a need to recruit a Finance Manager to support a number of key contracts in the South East. This is a business critical role in which you will take ownership of the month end, financial reporting and cash management and partner the business to improve insights into business performance. You will support financial planning and analysis and provide business expertise into accounting/financial control processes. This role offers an exciting mix of core and commercial finance/ business partnering and requires a qualified finance manager (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a pro-active mind-set and relevant experience in a hands on role in industry. Working with general managers and key finance heads the role with involve the following:-

  • Conduct business performance analysis on the business contract (s) to identify, investigate and understand operational business unit results (e.g. margins, costs, profitability etc.)
  • Take ownership for the Management Accounting, Financial Reporting and Business Planning on the specific contract with scope to take ownership of further contracts throughout the year
  • Prepare, challenge and explain accomplishment of budgets and forecasts in coordination with Operations and Commercial teams
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights on specific issues (e.g. develop business cases for new business opportunities)
  • Prepare Capex approval forms including rationale for the investment and calculation of expected financial return
  • Drive process improvements in working capital management
  • Ensure accuracy of period-end financial closings by providing business expertise into the financial control team and reviewing final output

The ideal candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and previous experience of influencing finance and operational teams. You must have a forward thinking approach and a sound ability to get behind the numbers to understand key business drivers and influence decision making. The role also requires someone who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and identify future opportunities through detailed analysis.
