Ambitious Management / Project Accountant ready to take on a more senior role? Our client, a fast growing landscape design and architecture company based in central/south west London has an immediate opportunity for a Finance Manager to take the next step to develop their career as head of finance. It is a long established family owned business which has a strong brand and is a leader in its field. 

THE ROLE

Reporting to the commercial director, you will be responsible for all the accounting and reporting of 2 companies with a joint turnover of c. £5m and growing.  There is over 70 staff and an ambitious growth strategy is in place.

As finance manager you will be responsible for overseeing the work of the bookkeeper ensuring that: all the payable and receivables processes are effective and properly reconciled; bank reconciliations and cashflows are up to date and accurate, VAT and CIS returns are done, company credit cards, and delivery of payroll information to the payroll team.

However the most challenging aspect of role will be to monitor and analyse the gross profit and costings of a portfolio of c.100 live projects.  You will also produce budgets and projections, cashflows,  and monthly management accounts and information.

REQUIREMENTS

Our client seeks an experienced project accountant to head the finance team and look after the day-to-day accounting of the business. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the project accountant will have ultimate responsibility for two UK limited companies and one small overseas entity.

  • Qualified or part-qualified CIMA or ACCA (or equivalent) accountant.
  • Proficiency in Xero preferred
  • Experience in project finance is preferred although training and support will be provided.  
  • A positive, flexible and can-do attitude.
