Finance Director - 2-3 Days/Week

My client is a niche, highly profitable Civil Engineering/Utilities SME which has recently successfully attracted PE investment to support the company's exciting expansion strategy.

An experienced and commercially rounded portfolio FD, available 2-3 days per week, is sought to beef up the Management Team to achieve its sustainable and profitable growth plans.

Reporting to and operating as "business partner" to the MD,  the brief will include:

* Head up, coach and develop a small efficient Finance team.

* Develop the financial reporting framework and business critical KPI's to ensure the optimal control and delivery of medium and longer term Contracts.

* Play a key role in the identification, tendering and project management control of profitable Contracts.

* Act as direct point of contact with all professional stakeholders - PE firm, Bank, Auditors, Legal, Tax authorities etc.

* Overall, proactively support the MD to manage the profitable growth and enterprise value of the business leading to maximising shareholder value on anticipated exit/Trade Sale within the next 5 years.

Candidate profile:

* Successful portfolio FD seeking an ongoing 2-3 day/wk commitment perhaps to bolt onto another similar part time FD role.

* Experience of Contract Costing is essential, ideally within a similar Civil Engineering or Construction  sector or other related Engineering environment.

* Hands on approach allied to the ability to provide wider commercial and strategic input.
