Management Reporting
* Preparation of Monthly Management reports

Financial Reporting
* Preparation of monthly financial Statements, Annual Accounts, and Semi Annual Consolidation

  • Compliance and preparation of annual results for external Audit in the UK.
    * Production of various routine sales / cost analysis and ad-hoc reports as and when required.
    * Preparation and Finalisation of Tax computation and analysis of expenses
    * Preparation of monthly sales report
    * Preparation of monthly sales and order receivables report.
    * Preparation of capital expenditure report.

    Financial Controls
    * Ensuring that internal controls of the Company with regard to its accounting functions are complied with and regularly reviewing the Company's internal controls.
    * Monitoring expenditure to ensure that Company Policies are strictly adhered to.

    Budgetary Preparation
    * Preparation of budgetary Profit and Loss and budgetary Balance Sheet. Set up quarterly forecast meeting and half yearly budget meetings with each business unit and report to both Management and TSB.
    * Preparation of monthly forecast Profit and Loss account, Balance Sheet and Cash flow for TSB reporting including reporting by SBU.

    Ledger Accounting - Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet
    * Ensure that necessary accounting work is completed as and when required to meet monthly and annual accounting needs.
    * Preparation and checking of monthly Gross Margins, making accruals when necessary. Providing monthly report from GAIA for sales and cost of sales for reconciliation.
    * Regular checking of exchange gains/losses, covering revaluation of Balance Sheets to reflect prevailing exchange rates.
    * Working with IS Department, make amendments to configuration of Computerised Business Systems as and when required by changes in organisation structure or procedures regarding gross margin reporting and inventory control.
    * Reconciliation of all ledger control accounts which are linked to SOP, POP and Inventory Control Interfacing.
    * Control and reconciliation of all other Balance Sheet accounts.
    * Preparation for long term contract accounting and reconciliation of WIP balance.

    Prime Interface between Sales Departments and Accounts
    * Checking and validating of transactions posted through journal importing from Sun Business with regard to financial entries analysis codes, accounting period etc.
    * Preparation of Aged Debtors and Creditors for submission to each Division and manage the over 90 days due. Circulate Debtors and Creditors list and manage inter-company account reconciliations.

Person Specification

To be considered for this role you will be a qualified accountant with previous experience of managing a small finance team and being responsible for all of finance.

The role reports directly to the divisional MD who is non finance so this is very much a NO.1 role.

You will be able to demonstrate -
Strong Accounting Business Systems experience (Oracle desirable, but not essential)
Experience in dealing with Multi-Currencies
Strong Excel / Microsoft Office Skills
Staff Management (small team of 4 staff) - Strong Management Skills
Assertive & Pro-active (we want this individual to be confident to come in and hit the ground running, take ownership of the role and not be afraid to challenge senior management if necessary)
Hands-on / Ability to work to deadlines
