Head of Finance

Robertson Bell Finance are working with a Charity based in Angel to find an experienced Head of Finance to join their busy and high performing team. This life-changing organisation helps women and their families across the UK.

The Head of Finance will assume the responsibility for producing the annual budget and running the year end process. Bringing together these duties and overseeing the payroll, this roles is a pivotal strategic position that will play a key role in directing and facilitating the sustainable growth and deepen the impact of the organisation. The key financial contact for the Board, the Head of Finance will be responsible for producing relevant financial reports and analysis and will be directly involved in key decision making to ensure the long term development and ongoing success of the organisation. Being the number one finance position, the role will lead on the financial planning and management of financial and operational risk, including developing mitigating strategies. You will need to clearly communicate financial standards and guidelines to non-financial staff and external stakeholders. There is an operational dimension to this role, relied on to oversee the IT provider relationship. This position is also responsible for managing a small team, and the successful candidate will be both hands-on and strategic.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified (CCAB) accountant with a proactive outlook and a real passion for the charity sector. With strong experience both leading the financial accounting function and the budgeting and forecasting function, the ideal candidate will be excited about the opportunity to contribute strategically to the growth of this organisation. Liaising with contacts and stakeholders across the organisation, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
