Opportunity:

A world leading children’s/family entertainment production and distribution company with a diverse portfolio of clients is recruiting for a talented Financial Controller to partner the management team and provide financial control as well as advise, implement and drive improvement in financial performance in a systematic and commercially viable way.

Reporting directly into the Managing Directors and the Shareholders, this is a great hands-on opportunity for an aspiring, pro-active and driven accountant to lead and manage the financial operation of the business from start to finish. With an open plan office based in London and clients on a global scale, the opportunity to work within a team in and outside of the finance function calls out to those who have both the commercial acumen as well as technical financial strength. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day activities of the finance function, including managing of a senior management accountant & becoming the point of reference for all finance related questions
  • Ensure that all finance information is accurately reported to the management team
  • Oversee the delivery of accurate monthly management accounts and statutory accounts
  • Manage the year-end audit process
  • Manage banking  / 3rd parties relationships
  • Prepare and manage budgeting process and P&L / BS / Cash flow Forecast
  • Oversee/set-up month-end payments (inc. payroll)
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly royalties statements
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as required to support the management

You MUST have the following in order to be considered:

  • The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and MUST come from a Media/TV/Entertainment/Production/Distribution sector background.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Navision is VITAL
  • Knowledge of SAGE highly beneficial
  • Royalties Experience in both collection and distribution
  • Payroll and Invoices 
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to successful manage multiple priorities
  • Be able to work calmly an proactively under pressure
  • Maintain a strong and impeccable customer focus
  • Having a keen eye for accuracy is also essential
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to liaise, build and maintain relationships with finance and non-finance executives.
