Financial Controller

My client a fast growing legal firm located in the City of London are looking to recruit for a Financial Controller. This is a great opportunity to join an international firm, who work with a significant number of the fortune 500 businesses. They are looking to add to their team an ambitious, individual who wants to be part of a growing firm.

Reporting to the board you shall be responsible for;

• Financial management of the firms accounts
• Ensure compliance with SRA handbook and anti-money laundering rules
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Working with the management team on commercial terms and risk
• Producing detail budget and cash flow reports
• Manage the WIP with the fee earners and partners - and ensure correct billing
• Supervise the VAT return
• Maintain the account system - and improve processes where necessary
• Ensure firms policies and procedures are adhered to
• Management of 1 member of staff

The ideal candidate shall be

• ACA/ACCA Qualified
• Have strong commercial acumen and be keen to add value
• Ideal have experience of SAR regulations
• Have strong Excel knowledge
• Experience of process improvement
• Want to be part of a growing firm
• Confident reporting directly in to the board both verbally and in writing

This is an excellent opportunity for either 1st mover from practice, or a recently qualified accountant to step in to a role which could spring board you towards Finance Director in 4-5 years!
