Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, our client is an exciting and progressive company who have continuously grown over recent years and they are looking for an Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This job will be reporting to the Senior Accountant and would suit someone who is looking to pro-actively manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring that all statutory compliance work is achieved, targets are exceeded and referrals are gained, thereby leading to company growth.

The successful individual will have practice experience dealing with small businesses, ideally with at least an AAT qualification as well as experience in preparing and reviewing accounts. Experience in advising clients of their tax liabilities - both personal and corporate is essential, as is knowledge of running a Limited company payroll and RTI requirements. VAT returns preparation experience with excellent interpersonal skills and communication is vital as is the ability to gain customer referrals.

Duties will include:

• Build long term relationships with clients, ensuring that you communicate regularly with them in a pro-active manner
• The completion of year-end accounts, CT600, and Corporation Tax computations
• The completion of Personal Tax Returns
• Ensure all targets for referrals are exceeded. Apply the referral policy and ensure client meetings are carried out and feedback obtained
• Provide on-going, unsolicited proactive advice on a regular basis
• Seek on-going feedback from clients and report results to Directors
• Work closely with the Administrators and Credit Control teams to ensure that clients' fees are paid
• Work with the Administrators to manage the billing cycle of the client and follow procedure to have credits raised & invoices stopped if necessary
• Ensure your performance development plan is reviewed at least quarterly with Operations Director
• Ensure all company SLA's are exceeded
• Regularly provide Senior Accountant with customer feedback to ensure the business is driven to add real value to the customers
• Promote the vision, values and culture of the business within the team and, where necessary externally. This may include writing articles, guides, press releases, blogs and public speaking
