A Group Financial Accountant is required to work for a fast growth private equity backed Consumer business based in Central London on a 12-14 month maternity cover contract. This well-established business has a strong brand name in the market, a turnover of circa £300 million and an international presence. The business has experienced rapid growth over the past 18 months including acquisitions.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be working in a team of 4 in group finance and amongst a larger finance team. Acting as the number 2 to the Group Financial Controller this role will be a blend of group financial and management accounting as well as project based work and mentoring team members. Duties will include:
- Ownership of the consolidation of group entities including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
- Overseeing and reviewing month-end accounting
- Preparation of investor reports, flash revenue reports and cash reports
- Assisting with project based work and budgets and forecasts
- Working with the Group FC to prepare year-end audit and liaise with auditors
- Mentoring a Part Qualified Accountant
- Liaising with International operations and senior stakeholders throughout the business
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant who is ideally ACA qualified, ACCA or CIMA qualified candidates will be considered. You will be newly qualified or have 1-2 years post qualified experience in industry or be looking to make your first move out of practice into industry. It is essential that you have previous consolidation experience as well as a good understanding of IFRS. Communication skills is key and an ability to challenge and influence internal stakeholders as well as support and train team members. You must be comfortable working in a fast paced, international and dynamic environment.
