Accounts Payable Administrator - Manufacturing - near Stevenage

We have an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Administrator to join the finance department of a global manufacturing organisation. This will be for a 15 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) on a full time basis.

The purpose of this role is to maintain an accurate and up-to-date supplier, employee and intergroup payables ledger in order to enable timely payment of supplier and intergroup invoices as well as employee travel expenses. This role will be required to resolve invoice and expense queries in a timely manner as well as pay supplier and intergroup invoices and employee expenses in accordance with agreed payment terms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date payables ledger which enables accurate payment of invoices and employee expense claims
  • Timely processing of high volume supplier invoices to agreed payment terms by capturing supplier invoices, matching invoices with orders and checking the accuracy of the invoice content and coding
  • Timely processing of employee travel expense claims
  • Gaining appropriate approval for payment
  • Investigate invoices and expenses queries with the aim to timely resolve them to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Month end activities (including reporting and accruals) and statement reconciliations.

Ideal candidates will have experience working in this capacity within large or corporate company functions; be able to follow structured processes and procedures, work efficiently and be able to handle numerous different accounts payable aspects simultaneously; have excellent communication skills to interact by phone, email and face-to-face; be organised and able to prioritize your own work load and be engaging and approachable.

Strong IT skills are erequired, notably with Excel. Knowledge of JD Edwards or SAP would also be beneficial.
