Michael Page have been appointed exclusive recruiter partner on an exciting FD Designate appointment for a growing SME based near Horsham, West Sussex.
Client Details
Our client is an owner-managed engineering business that is currently enjoying impressive growth and will see that expansion continue over the next 3 years. With a 2016 turnover of £6million the business will undergo further positive change in 2017 and the appointment of a FD Designate is seen as critical to the delivery of that growth. The MD is eager to position the role as both a hands-on and detail orientated leader of the day to day function as well as someone who can challenge thinking at board level. As such, there will likely be progression to the Finance Director title after a successful initial period with the business.
Description
As FD Designate you will take full ownership for the accounting and reporting requirements of the business. This will include all day to day responsibilities (supported by a small team) and the building of a robust accounting infrastructure that will underpin the business as it expands further in the coming years. It is expected the company will move towards a group structure in 2017 so prior experience within a small group of companies and associated subsidiary accounting would be advantageous.
In addition to the core accounting tasks, the successful candidate will also be a valued member of the senior management team. The MD is looking for someone who can challenge the status quo, looks for ways to improve things and add value outside of just the finance function. This is a great opportunity to make a genuine difference to a business that is on a definite upward curve.
Profile
The ideal candidate will be:
A fully qualified accountant, ACA/ACCA or CIMA
Experienced at Financial Controller or Head of Finance level within a small business
Any previous experience of working in a heavy industry and contract lead business model would be very favourable
Proactive, inquisitive and eager to prove themselves.
Job Offer
£55,000 to £70,000 depending on experience.
