Finance Director

Our retained client is a privately owned, highly successful Land Promotion and Property Finance Group with an outstanding track record.  The business requires a commercially astute and hands on Finance Director to partner the Group Managing Director and the Board in driving the ongoing controlled growth of the business. The business has a professional yet friendly and down to earth culture which has successfully retained the entrepreneurial and fast moving ethos upon which it was founded.

The role is primarily focused upon the financial leadership of 2 distinct businesses; one a land promotion company, promoting land through the planning system for residential development, and the other a specialist property finance company.

The Role

Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director the role has responsibility for both commercial partnering to the management team and astute financial management of the businesses, thereby playing an integral part in driving further profitable growth.

Responsibilities include

• Provide support and input to the development and implementation of business strategy;
• Preparation and review of project specific and company forecasts;
• Cashflow and Treasury management;
• Preparation and presentation of monthly financials to Board;
• Review, appraisal and modelling of new business opportunities;
• Review of and input into monthly management accounts;
• Management of key external relationships including banks, investors, insurers, auditors;
• Investor liaison and preparation of written monthly updates;
• Assistance with new deal due diligence and legals;
• Tax management.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be energetic and robust, with excellent people and relationship building skills. You will be equally at ease operating both in the detail and at strategic level. Experience in some aspect of the property sector would be useful but is not essential.

Candidates should have a desire to work in a business whose culture is innovative, proactive and pragmatic and is characterised by rapid and well informed decision making and a “can do” attitude. The Finance Director is seen as a key role in contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the Group.
