We are seeking a qualified accountant with experience in both the finance and property sectors who would be able to contribute to the existing management team with regards to strategic decisions effecting the company. The role includes the support and guidance relating to property investment acquisitions, development management and day to day over site of all financial matters and will be involved in growing the company.


It is expected that this hands on role is a part time commitment of circa 2-3 days per week working from the company office. The individual should also be available via email and phone outside of these days for occasional team support when necessary.

Key areas of responsibility include:
*Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
(Understanding of cash flows, profitability, availability of finance, view of competing projects and risk analysis)
*Providing and interpreting financial information
(Company profit/loss statements & balance sheets, Project spend against budget measured against % completion, company cash flow reports measured against budget)
*Analysing and evaluating property investment opportunities
(% return, pay back period, financing options, assessment of risk)
*Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding the company's financial affairs
(Companies House filings, HMRC compliance re PAYE, Vat & Company Tax)
*Managing the company's accounting and reporting system
(Oversight of Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll systems, system upgrades and enhancements, liaison with Sage support as necessary)
*Managing the relationship with the Company's bankers, accountants and insurance broker
(Re-gearing of loans, meeting loan covenants and reporting requirements)
*HR and payroll support and advice
(Starters/leavers, new pension requirements)
*Business Development
(Utilising property and finance contacts, sourcing of external business opportunities)

Education and experience:

*Demonstrable experience at a senior level within a property or development company
*Significant experience in financial and corporate management
*Experience of construction matters would be beneficial
*Ability to multi task and show experience in growing businesses
*Qualified member of an accountancy body & degree level education
