Matrix Solutions - a leading data and business intelligence company, is looking for a Financial Accountant to cover all aspects of Finance for a UK based division. Working under direct supervision of a Finance Manager the Financial Accountant will be responsible for transactional and reporting activities in finance. The company has aggressive plans for expansion via organic growth and acquisitions. Therefore, there are a lot of future opportunities for the right candidate.     

  Key duties/responsibilities:

  • Calculate and post accruals, prepayments and other journals at the year/month end reporting 
  • Perform  Bank and Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis 
  • Responsible for all aspects of the purchase ledger including daily record and payment of invoices, petty cash and intercompany transactions
  • Work closely with Sales and Client Service departments to correctly record sales and assess impact on revenue recognition with determination of deferred revenue
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register
  • Assist with external audit and fully manage credit control function
  • Assist employees with the travel and management system and the CRM (SalesForce)
  • Perform analysis on expenses and revenue as required and provide assistance to FP&A function of the company and the budgeting process
  • Preparation of VAT returns and assist with National Statistics returns
  • Cash flow analysis with regular reports to the Global Controller

Education and Experience: 

  • Experienced accountant with circa five years of relevant experience
  • Educated to a degree level/ ACCA affiliate/Newly qualified   
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems, Microsoft Dynamics-Great Plains and SalesForce experience is a massive advantage
  • Proficient user of Excel and MS Office generally
