Sellick Partnership have been tasked to recruit an interim Finance Director for a Public Sector Organisation in central Manchester. The candidate must be very strong in managing a finance function and be a professional interim who is able to hit the ground running once in post. The role is for 9 months initially and is to start as soon as possible you the candidate must be immediately available.
The main duties of the role include:
- All round management of the finance function
- Build and develop the finance team
- Implementing effective financial strategies, processes and systems. Especially audit and financial controls.
- Responsible for risk management, and creating a coherent strategy for mitigating this.
- Production of management accounts and annual reporting
- Creating tangible results, understanding the impact of the financial performance on the end user and the overall service delivery.
- Inclusion of ICT in the development, delivery and monitoring of operational finance services.
- Using and applying major legislative issues and changes within public sector finance.
- Liaising and working directly in partnership with multiple other public sector organisations
- Budget development
- Introducing innovative methods to financial management
- Project management
- Ad-hoc travel between other locations
The candidate:
The client is seeking a professional and astute Finance Professional who is a qualified Accountant (CCAB/ ACCA / ACA / CIMA) and able to manage an entire finance department. This must be proven by a track record of similar roles and the ability to show where and how you have done this previously in line with measurable results. Must have extremely strong project management skills and a complete understanding of the compliance, legal and regulatory requirements within a finance function. The ability to communicate across all levels within finance and the wider organisation will be paramount so it is important the candidate has fantastic communication skills
