Robertson Bell Finance are proud to be exclusively partnered with the National Children's Bureau in their search for a Finance and HR Officer to be based at their head office in Islington, London.
The National Children's Bureau (NCB), a leading charity in the children's voluntary sector have for more than 50 years has been making a big difference to lives of children and young people across the country. They have been instrumental in delivering major government reforms, influencing policy to champion children's right to be safe, secure, and supported. Today they continue to working across important issues directly affecting the lives of millions of children. NCB has approximately 80 employees and an annual turnover of circa £21m.
This dynamic and multifaceted organisation are now at an exciting stage of their development and following an internal restructure, the new role; Finance and HR Officer is seen to be as critical ensuring the finance department and HR department operate in an efficient manner. This role is two-thirds finance reporting to the Financial Controller, and one-third HR reporting to the HR Manager, duties will include:
1. Screening and posting all sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit-control journals
2. Processing and matching a range of invoice payments from various suppliers
3. Monitor cash flow by collating and presenting information to show current movements and forecast future cash flow
4. Sole ownership of the HR system, including adding new members, training staff on usage and responding to staff queries
5. Provide administrative support for recruitment campaigns, including staff induction and DBS Disclosure procedures
6. Monitor staff absences, annual leave and probation status while being responsible for all payroll administration

The successful candidate will be able to work in a complex organisation with a range of people and personalities, with both financial and non-financial backgrounds. Candidates from all backgrounds are welcome and they must have experience in sales or purchase ledger and payroll processing. The successful candidate will need to pay close attention and use their initiative while having excellent communication and analytical skills.
