Finance Director

Page Executive are working with a growing legal firm as they look to appoint a new Finance Director.

Client Details

Based in Southampton, the firm have strong growth plans and the new Finance Director will play a key role in delivering that growth both via acquisitions and organically.

Description

The successful candidate will work closely with both the Managing Partner and Ops Director. You will oversee a Finance team, led by a Financial Controller, and will be expected to add value strategically, commercially and operationally as the firm looks to realise its potential.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Leading annual budgeting and forecasting
  
• Compiling the mid-year reforecast and presenting the results to the Managing Partner and Partners
  
• Short and long-term business planning at firm-wide, division and team levels
  
• Giving input to the client development team in relation to pitches and tenders
  
• Providing detailed analyses for partners and practice groups on a weekly/monthly basis, as well as a monthly synopsis of the financial performance of the firm as required
  
• Providing training for groups of fee earners. Recommending improvements in efficiencies and practices
  
• Liaising with auditors in relation to the annual SRA Accounts Rules audit work
  
• Acting as the main point of contact in relation to treasury and tax, financial systems and financial infrastructure
  
• Working with partners, head of department and others to encourage best practice in relation to accounting and profitability, pricing and matter management

Profile

The ideal candidate will working in a similar capacity on a legal or professional services business. We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with demonstrable leadership experience and previous involvment in M&A activity.
