Privately owned entrepreneurial Adult social care business has delivered exceptional growth over the last three years and is now strengthening the senior management team with the appointment of a new CFO. This is an outstanding opportunity for the successful candidate to get involved in the continued development of the business with a view to achieving external investment or an exit in the medium term future. The CFO role is crucial forming a central point of all operational and strategic decision making. 

Working closely with the Managing Director, COO, and Operational Managers responsibilities include: 

•    Managing all financial aspects of the group 
•    Audit and statutory compliance
•    Relationship management including SAO
•    Day to day cash planning and management
•    Budgeting and management reporting
•    New site procurement and development
•    Financing decisions and execution
•    Acquisition consideration and execution
•    Business strategic planning
•    Performance management
•    Preparation of the business for external investment / exit
 

Candidate profile:

The role will suit somebody looking for their first CFO/FD position. Those on the upward curve of their career not somebody who has already been in a similar role for a number of years. 

•    A qualified accountant most likely to be ACA from a top 20 Accountancy practice although candidates who are qualified ACCA,CIMA or have the international equivalent maybe considered

•    A demonstrable track record of success in their career where they can show they have contributed to the growth of their company over a length of time 

•    A broad accounting experience gained in SME’s in sectors which promote quality of service and is people driven as found in the caring professions. Experience of working in either AIM listed or Private equity backed businesses is advantageous. 

  • A strong financial control background with attention to detail, particularly in all aspects of financial and management accounting, budgeting, forecasting including good reporting skills. Those with the ability to continuously improve what they are doing.
  • Exposure to some Corporate Finance experience is desirable but not essential as  support in this area will be available
  • Strong systems background including advanced excel skills  
  • Staff management experience in leading and developing teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills  
  • Must display some sort of connection or an interest in the sector.
  • A team player with gravitas and the ability to build strong relationships 
  • Hard working – flexible and adaptable approach  
  • Hands-on approach, happy to roll sleeves up and get stuck in on any task
