Description

This is a truly exciting opportunity for a CCAB qualified Auditor to join one of the biggest Audit firms in Wales who specialise 100% in Public Sector.

Due to the nature of the work and the sectors, working for this organisation will open doors to more "interesting" work and clients and would be a great next step for a proven Auditor who is looking to advance their career.

Based in North Wales you will work between 2 sites and your main accountabilities will be;

  • Leading and supervising staff on financial and other audits
  • Planning, executing and reporting financial and other audit work to organisational standards and in a timely manner
  • Timely, high quality development and/or implementation of aspects of organisational policy, procedure and methods.
  • Take a planned approach to work and organise resources to best effect, and proposing solutions to overcome resourcing and scheduling problems
  • Contribute effectively to more than one team
  • Evaluate financial systems, identify weaknesses and suggest remedies
  • Conduct fieldwork for complex and high risk account areas
  • Develop sound findings and recommendations which are based on audit evidence
  • Review papers prepared by staff
  • Submit well organised documentation for review
  • Advise, lead and motivate staff
  • Act on own initiative with limited supervision and guidance from Client or Project Manager
  • Responsible for day to day decisions on audit approach and work allocation
  • Exercise sound judgement on technical accounting matters and propose the appropriate course of action.

Profile

I am looking for a qualified CCAB Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA).

You will have extensive Financial Audit experience gained in the Public Sector or in Commerce.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of public sector audit and accounting issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of the key issues affecting public sector bodies
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of audit and accounting standards and their application to the public sector, including emerging and technical issues.
  • Efficient time management and project management skills - including the ability to lead a portfolio of clients and audits on a daily basis.
  • Team management - the ability to lead staff of a variety of skills, backgrounds and experiences
  • Written communication skills - including the ability to draft formal and informal reports for final review by the Client or Project Manager for both internal and external distribution.
  • Strong communication and interview skills coupled with good analytical skills and the ability to demonstrate sound professional judgement.
  • Ability to form and develop relationships with key officers

Job Offer

A salary starting on the range of £39,040 - £44,439 dependant on experience
