Based out of their Sheffield head office, the Financial Controller will report directly into the Finance Director within this fast paced and progressive organisation and will be pivotal in supporting the company's growth strategy and driving cultural change.

Under the management of a new executive team, Tuffnells has attracted over 400 new accounts and with a turnover of £180Million, they are looking to grow both organically and acquisitively over the next 3 years.

Detailed Job Description

The key focus of the financial controller's role will be to manage and lead the finance department, ensuring that financial policy, control and governance is in line with Groups expectations. The development of staff will also be key, creating a World- Class finance team that can support the business in driving key strategies and decisions.

Other responsibilities will include;

  • HFM Reporting
  • Consolidated Accounts
  • Statutory Accounts and taxation
  • Production of timely Management Accounts and reporting, including submission to the executive team and Connect Group Plc.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Managing and streamline financial operations
  • Auditor liaison and coordination in conjunction with Finance Business partners
  • Maintaining robust controls and compliance with Group policies
  • Responsible for Risk, Risk Management and BCP reporting for the division
  • Involvement in key projects to improve processes and systems
  • Forecasting and Budgeting

Candidate's Profile

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified, having trained within a top 4 practice and with post qualified experience of group statutory account preparation to IFRS standards and reporting within a corporate environment. A key part of the Financial Controllers role will be to prepare and present reports to Group and key stakeholders on a regular basis, therefore excellent presentational and inter-personal skills are essential. As is a proven track record in staff management and development. Experience of working within a high growth or listed environment would be advantageous. The desire to progress and succeed within an ambitious Plc environment is a must.
