We are the British Independent Retailers Association (bira), a high profile national retail membership organisation supporting small and medium independent businesses to be successful and profitable. bira represents around 6500 members across multiple retail markets including hardware & DIY, cookshop, housewares, gift, fashion, home décor, furniture and furnishings, pet, agricultural and garden machinery and general merchandise.
bira is the voice of independent retailers, but we do a lot more besides lobbying and representing our members; behind-the-scenes the organisation is buzzing with activity on a wide variety of areas and services. We're keen to find people who are inspired by our cause, hands-on and passionate about making things happen.
We are in the process of relocating our operations in Banbury to our Head Office in Birmingham. As a result, we a seeking a Chief Accountant to manage all accounting functions and lead a small accounts department. The Association has many diverse trading activities as part of providing our members with a broad range of services.
You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant and will have considerable financial management and accounting experience.
