Data Analyst - perm
Working as part of the Cost Management and Information Management teams, this role will assist senior managers in transforming Cost Management's approach to harnessing the value that can be created from the intelligent capture, manipulation and analysis of data.
The role is highly analytical but also requires considerable initiative, creativity, problem solving and extensive internal stakeholder interaction in order to understand the businesses sectors and to deliver timely tangible results, build confidence in their data and to contribute to the development of their data outputs.
Experience / duties
*Receiving and analysing data submitted from around the business.
*Challenging and organising data according to common structures with recognised attributes and output metrics.
*Production of benchmarking dashboards to represent the data outputs within given structures.
*Collating business 'performance' relating to data submission and identified trends in data.
*Assist in developing the objectives of the data capture function and the methodology to capture the data
*Work with Senior Managers to gain an understanding of the underlying industry and project level trends and patterns, complete gap analyses for raw data and the meta data or attributes required to make the information 'rich'.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills will be needed in dealing with people from all levels within the business.
*Supporting the business in developing a sustainable and integrated approach to data capture through programme and project life cycles
*Evidence of advanced Excel abilities
*Tableau and / or Qlikbase capability. Evidence of ability in working with relational databases such as MS Access and SQL
*A high degree of competence in IT computer and IT skills, spreadsheets and databases - essential
*Good analytical skills are required with a desire to work with detail - essential
*Minimum of 1 years' experience of working in the Construction or Property sectors - desirable
*Understanding of the financial, estimating and budgeting / quantity surveying aspects of the Construction Industry - desirable
*Working towards a relevant professional qualification or membership of a recognised professional body - desirable
