Are you a Commercial Management Accountant that can hit the ground running and take on new challenges and bring in fresh new ideas? Do you enjoy variation in your day to day work and have the opportunity to spend time business partnering and customer facing?

The role is based in Towcester in Northamptonshire paying up to 40k plus superb company benefits. An outgoing personality is required within this role with very strong relationship building skills and robust on the management accounting side in the main as you will be working very closely with different business units regularly. No one day will feel the same!

Scope of the role

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Commercial Management Accountant to be responsible for financial and budgetary activity for key contracts within their business, which will support the operations team in achieving financial targets and business KPIs


  • To prepare, analyse & be part of the review of monthly management accounts and presentation packs
  • Variances to budget reported , investigated and explained
  • Revenue and expenditure have been accounted for in the correct period
  • Accruals and recharges have been correctly processed
  • Departmental revenue and expenditure is correctly stated
  • Gross Margin analysis is performed
  • To assist the Financial Controller with the preparation of the monthly consolidated Accounts
  • To assist in the Control of Stock
  • To review Purchase orders & control Month end download from upload to financial Navision AP system
  • To attend regular departmental meetings & to offer Financial guidance where appropriate
  • To co-ordinate and prepare regular reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, as directed by the Financial Controller
  • To assist in the preparation of projects ensuring that revenue and expenditure is completely and accurately recorded and reported
  • To provide accurate and timely analysis of existing business activities and assist in preparing financial information for new or proposed product offerings
  • To assist the Financial Controller in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts, together with supporting variance analysis and commentary


  • Reporting to the Financial Controller and indirectly to the Finance Director
  • Working relationship with the operational managers
  • Close working relationship with Finance team members

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience of working in high-volume and deadline-driven Finance environment
  • Significant experience of preparing management accounts, preferably in similar industry
  • Experience of preparing budgets and financial analyses of business performance
  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts desirable
  • Ability to work to tight and strict deadlines
  • Previous experience of Navision Accounting system an advantage

Personal Attitude and Skills

  • Highly motivated and positive can do attitude

  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible and handle multiple projects

  • Proven interpersonal skills with internal and external partners

  • Power user (Word, Excel, e-mail and PowerPoint)

Your Profile

  • You will ideally be a Management Accountant that can build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders around the site and be able to be confident in a customer facing environment with strong interpersonal skills

  • The client is not worried about the qualification, they are more interested in the business partnering skills, building strong working relationships and making sure that the management accounts are produced at a high standard
