My client, a £12 million T/O International manufacturing business based in South East Kent is recruiting a Financial Controller due to a need to increase the skill set within their Finance department. Reporting to the Finance Director this role will take responsibility for all aspects of reporting and internal controls for the business and reporting to Group.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant who has experience of working in a small accounts team and a strong internal controls background. You will need to be comfortable with all aspects of day to day financial operations and must be well organised, proactive and possess a high level of attention to detail.
Core responsibilities will include:
-Preparation of monthly management accounts, including raising, posting and authorisation of journals as required
-Managing Fixed Asset management and depreciation posting
-Review and analysis of accounts and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
-Completion of VAT and Intrastat returns
-Supporting the FD with Group Reporting, including monthly cash forecast reporting (including cash management)
-Monthly management accounts, 12 month rolling forecasts, Quarterly detailed forecasts, preparation of year end accounts packs and annual Strategy plans
-Managing a small team
-Dealing with Ad-hoc queries
You will ideally have significant practical experience in a manufacturing environment, an understanding of standard costing and have the ability to logically analyse problems and propose practical, effective solutions.
Strong Excel skills and the ability to influence and communicate effectively with colleagues are essential.
Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA or possibly CIMA qualified.
