An exciting opportunity has opened with a major banking group. The role provides compliance and advisory services to all Groups businesses to ensure the businesses are aware of the risks of non-compliance with HMRC and European regulations, by being both a subject matter expert and business partner.

Description
Accountabilities
*Provide proactive tax advice on the Taxes compliance regime, acting as the first point of contact on own areas of responsibility, specifically providing technical advice on the design, implementation and enhancement of procedures and on the consequences of business and product developments to minimise tax risk.
*Escalate non-compliance risks across the Group ensuring senior management are made aware of financial and reputational risks.
*Control the process for returns which are completed and submitted to HMRC to ensure that these are made accurately and timeously.
*Assist the business in identifying risks and implementing assurance checks to ensure controls are operating effectively
*Influence external stakeholders ( eg. HMRC) and trade bodies to ensure takes advantage of any opportunities.
Profile
KEY CAPABILITIES
*Excellent technical knowledge of Taxes both in the UK and Europe
*Experience in a technical advisory role on large multi-disciplinary projects.
*Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
*Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
*Creativity and problem solving coupled with analytical and interpretive skills as well as attention to detail.
*Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with an ability to communicate at all levels.
*Ability to build effective working relationships with both colleagues and external contacts and to take a proactive and constructive approach to business developments and initiatives.
*Good technical knowledge of wider commercial, regulatory and risk management issues relating to regulated products.
Job Offer
£55,000 - £70,000 with an excellent package
