Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an Accounts Senior for a growing and well established Accountancy Practice based in Cheshire. The Role

Working in as an Accounts Senior you will be responsible for your own portfolio of clients, ranging from Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited companies. You will get involved in all aspects of accounts preparation, overseeing filing deadlines for year-end, monthly management accounts and competition of self-assessments and corporation tax returns. Supervising a small team of trainee accountants that will support you with the portfolio, you will review bookkeeping and VAT returns produced by the team, ensuring quality and accuracy and provide training where needed.

Each clients need will vary and no single account will be the same. For some clients you will work effectively as an outsourced Financial Controller, providing strategic consultancy and financial management. You will prepare forecasts, projections and budgets, helping businesses manage cash flow and improve on profitability or processes for business efficiency. Equally, you may get involved in ad-hoc/project based duties such as assisting clients with business plans or to raise funding. This role will entail extensive client interaction and networking to raise the profile of the business, promoting the company's services to attract new prospective clients.


The person

The successful role holder will have a minimum of 3-5 years previous experience working in an Accountancy Practice, in a similar role with exposure to accounts preparation and business advisory services. Ideally you will be fully qualified or at the latter stages of your ACA or ACCA finance Qualification. You will display excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication and be effective in building and developing relationships. You will need to be effective in time management and hold strong organisational skills, as well as being capable of leading a team. You will have strong IT skills, accustom to IRIS Practice Suite, Sage software, cloud based software such as Xero, and good on Excel. Attention to detail will be critical to this role, as is a hands on, 'can do' proactive approach. You will be commercially aware and confident working in varying environments and different business sectors.
