The National Army Museum (NAM) is dedicated to telling the story of the British Army, located in the heart of Chelsea, London. The extensive collection showcases the British colonial, imperial and commonwealth forces from 1066 to the present day demonstrating how the British Army has shaped the world we live in. The museum is in a huge transitional period of growth as it secured a phase 2 Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to have a major refurbishment of the Chelsea office. Currently, the organisation has approximately 60 employees and an annual turnover of circa £6m.

Robertson Bell Finance are proud to be exclusively partnered with The National Army Museum to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant. This is a two-year fixed term contract, that will join the current finance team of three people. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this exciting role will give the candidate a lot of exposure, experience and responsibility within an organisation. The main duties will include:

* Preparing full monthly management accounts for the commercial trading arm of the organisation;

* Produce monthly departmental budgets, relaying financial information to budget holders including variance and cash flow forecasts;

* Screening, preparing and posting journals including prepayments, accruals and depreciation at month ends;

* Reconciliation of the balance sheet control accounts, providing back up documents and being aware of adjustments;

* Process invoices, expenses, credit-card statements and payments.

The successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant of AAT finalist stage or equivalent. The will have an understanding for Charity SORP and will have prepared monthly accounts until trial balance. Candidates will understand double entry booking, v-look up and journal entry whilst having excellent attention to detail. The role will be working in an open plan office and will have the skills to communicate with staff members of different levels and departments. This is an exciting role for someone who wants more exposure to management accounts and business partnering.
