Axon Moore are representing a successful UK organisation who are a leading provider of high end products across the UK who are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their growing business on a temporary to permanent basis.
As the Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for managing and reconcile accounts including invoices and system charges. You will take a leading role in troubleshooting issues relating to queries as they arise.

As the Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for managing and reconcile accounts including invoices and system charges. You will take a leading role in troubleshooting issues relating to queries as they arise.
Duties:
- Check and reconcile invoices received against accruals, deliveries and bookings.
- Investigate thoroughly any variances between invoiced amounts and expected costs.
- Liaise with Account Managers, Procurement and the Retail Administration team to ensure that system rates and settings are correct.
- Liaise with Traders, Account Managers, and Procurement to ensure that invoices are checked and approved within a timely manner.
- Advise the business of ways in which the system can be improved.
- Query any unexpected amount on invoices and chase credit notes.
- Check statements on a monthly basis and ensure it reconciles with Navision accounts to ensure that all invoices have been accounted for and the accounts are up to date.
- Manage and process internal charges where appropriate
- Analyse costs where required
- General support to the finance team including Purchase Ledger, Treasury & Management Accounting
Person Specification:
- Ideally experienced in a haulage company.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Advanced user of Outlook, Excel, Word
- Highly numerate
- Demonstrates good sense of priorities
- Happy to support team as needed
- Able to identify risks and opportunities within own responsibility area
- Flexible adaptable to the changing requirements of the business
- Enjoys working as part of a team, giving and receiving support from other members
- Pro-active in raising and addressing issues
- Previous experience using Navision desirable
