Operational Tax Manager job with a leading Financial Services organisation in Halifax. Salary up to £60,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's leading retail and commercial banks as an Operational Taxes Manager. This organisation is a household name with brands, services and business spanning every aspect of banking and finance, including some of the biggest names on the UK's high streets.

Your new role
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and proactive Operational Tax compliance and advisory service to the business to ensure that they are aware of the risks of non-compliance with HM Revenue and Customs and other tax authority regulations by being a subject matter expert and business partner. You will work with regulatory bodies and industry groups to develop and implement regulatory change and to make operational taxes simpler, more efficient and cost effective for the customer.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to have a tax or accountancy qualification and excellent technical knowledge of Operational Taxes in the UK and ideally FATCA and CRS knowledge. You'll also have very strong technical analytical skills, gained from your experience in a technical advisory role, on large multi-disciplinary projects. Your knowledge and experience of tax legislation and ability to interpret complex legislation so that the business can assess the tax impact are essential to this role. In addition to this, you will combine your analytical skills and attention to detail with your influencing and stakeholder management skills to ensure you build effective working relationships and to ensure the Business compliance.
