Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society. Every year, we care for over 8,000 dogs and cats.
The Finance department deals with all financial, insurance, HMRC (and currently payroll) matters relating to Battersea at all sites and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Limited. It is responsible for the accounting of all income and expenditure including wages and salaries. Finance produce management accounts, annual budgets and year end accounts for audit. The Finance team will assist and advise management and staff on financial matters. The Home’s final salary and group personal pension schemes are also operated by this department.
Main purpose of the role
To ensure that the Home’s financial accounts are produced accurately and to the required timescales and ensure regulatory and statutory obligations are met.
