Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working exclusively with a fast growing and well run Manufacturing business in Chesterfield in their search for a new Financial Controller.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role within the business and will manage and take responsibility for all things related to financial and production activity. You will advise and guide the Board Directors as to best practice, compliance and business decision making - and tasked with helping to double an already substantial turnover.
The duties of the role will include:
*Management, development and control of the company`s financial systems
*Preparation of monthly management accounts
*Management Reporting & Financial Analysis - appraising operating results in terms of profitability/performance against budget etc.
*Responsible for balancing and reconciling, ensuring month end reporting is correct and improving underlying recording of Company transactions
*Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
*Management and control of the company´s operating expenses
*Provision of analysis and decision support to the Operations Director and senior management team
*Performance Controlling - development of a consistent and relevant KPI reporting suite
*Responsibility for all internal payments such as expenses, credit card transactions, payment runs and preparation of payroll
*Liaison with external stakeholder such as Company bankers, Auditors, HMRC and Suppliers
*Hands on responsibility for all accounting activities such as purchase and sales ledgers.
*Participation in Board meetings and management meetings
*Management and development of a small team
*Full involvement in the management of the business, contributing and offering advice and guidance
*Control of cash management including cash flow projection, daily cash flow and credit control activities
*Producing the annual statutory financial accounts for the business in conjunction with the Company's auditors
Interpersonal skills are an absolute must as you will be tasked with building and profiting on strong relationship with non-finance staff, suppliers, senior board members and customers. The Financial Controller will also be influencer and an ambassador for the business and as such, you should be able to direct and lead change.
Experience within a similar role is desirable, and a commercial mind-set and ability to implement cost saving improvements is integral. This is an outstanding role, allowing somebody the opportunity to make a real difference and impact on the business.
