Group Financial Accountant

Excellent opportunity for a dynamic qualified (ACA) Group Financial Accountant with significant experience in a relevant financial environment (practise or financial accounting/reporting) to join a thriving business, provide a range of consolidated financial reporting and deliver technically up to date and consistent Group accounting policies. As Line Manager for the Assistant Group Accountant the successful candidate will support the control activities of the wider Group Finance Team while assuming responsibility for the publication of separate subsidiary accounts for all corporate and non-trading entities.

A strong grasp of both IFRS and UK GAAP, knowledge of corporate reporting and confident in dealing with complex accounting areas, including derivatives and hedge accounting is essentials and areas of accountability will include:

  • Delivery of internal and external financial reporting for the Group on a consolidated basis
  • Delivery of separate statutory accounts and reports for the Group’s non-trading entities under UK GAAP (FRS 100/101/102)
  • Responsibility for the monthly group reporting and consolidation process
  • Maintenance of Group Accounting policies and procedures, and appropriate monitoring process.
  • Responsibility for the timely preparation of Group month end balance sheet analysis and control activities.
  • Assisting business unit finance teams with areas of technical complexity
  • Remaining technically up to date and analysing the impact of new or revised accounting pronouncements upon the Group.
  • Liaising with subsidiaries to ensure consistent application of Group accounting policy
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors, and other financial advisors to the Group.
  • Providing technical accounting support to subsidiary finance teams and the wider business.
  • Line manager for Assistant Group Accountant and responsible for driving their professional development.
  • Supporting and driving continuous improvement across the team.
