My client is a high growth, private equity (PE) backed retail, wholesale and distribution business. Based in South West London, but operating across the UK and internationally, the business are looking to appoint a Financial Controller to support their ambitious growth plans.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director and supporting the Senior Management Team (CEO, COO and Directors), responsibilities will include;
  • Lead the effective operation and delivery of day-to-day financial controls and processes.
  • Establishing and monitoring internal controls and procedures
  • Provision of management accounts, including P&L accounts, balance sheet and cash flow (including variance analysis)
  • Analysis of cash flow performance and working capital against budget and medium term forecasts
  • Assist in the implementation and management of the Navision ERP system.
  • Improvement and development of internal management reports in line with the on-going growth of business
  • Continual review and improvement of business processes, with a strong emphasis on cost control
  • This will be a highly visible hands on role managing the Finance team.
 
The Candidate
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Expert user of Navision
  • Retail, wholesale or distribution experience will be highly beneficial.  
  • Proven ability to maintain and improve financial controls in business going through significant change
  • Have experience of managing a finance team in an SME environment
  • Be an assured communicator with the gravitas and credibility to operate at a senior level.
  • Be a highly motivated, hard working and forward thinking finance professional possessing the ability to operate strategically and in the detail where necessary and able to influence others at all levels within the organisation
