Financial Controller

An outstanding opportunity to join a World-Leading, £Multi-Billion Retail business as Financial Controller. We are seeking an ACA Qualified, technically strong Financial Controller with exceptional management and leadership skills and ideally experience gained in a large multi-site, retail environment.

The company offer unrivalled opportunities on their Senior Finance Management rotation programme and Talent Management and Development is very high on the agenda. You will gain a real breadth of experience across finance and develop the skill set to be a Finance Director.

This is a key position within the Senior Management Team and Financial Accounting team with responsibility for the integrity of all Financial Statements. The role will manage a team of 3 direct qualified accountants and a wider team.

Key areas (full detailed spec being prepared):
-Review of divisional P&L and Variance Analysis
-Budgeting, Reconciliation of Lease Accounting
-Review on Monthly US GAAP Accounts
-Review of Monthly Management Accounts Pack and PWC Review pack
-Review of the Statutory Accounting Processes for various divisions
-Collaboration with Commercial Finance, FP&A and Financial Control teams

The successful candidate will be a qualified ACA/CIMA (ideally Big 4 trained or reputable Retail/FMCG graduate scheme) with a strong technical accounting skill-set, proven leadership qualities and excellent examples of working at pace in large, matrix organisation. Candidates from a large retailer/FMCG business are highly desirable. Candidates looking to make a move from a Big Senior Audit Manager / Transactions Services role will be considered. You will be confident, able to challenge and present to Board / CFO level.
