Elevation Senior Finance are currently working exclusively with a highly reputable manufacturing business based near Scunthorpe, in their search for a Cost Accountant.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role's main purpose will be to provide sufficient financial insight in order to ensure well informed operational decisions are made and improvement opportunities are identified.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the Senior Management Team through presenting financial performance, financially evaluating opportunities and supporting the business units to deliver financial objectives
* Analysis of Bill of Materials, explaining variances to standard
* Managing standard costs of new products, reviewing and analysing standard costs for existing products
* Coordinating the factory profit improvement plans and to hold the teams accountable for delivery
* Providing sound financial information to all stakeholders in order to aide decision making and drive profit improvement
* Reporting accurate, timely & insightful weekly accounts to the site team & submitting to Group within agreed timescales. To take accountability for reporting and providing insight into variance and overhead performance
* Understanding the main variance and overhead performance drivers and to be able to explain variances between actual results and budgets, targets, forecasts and run rates to non-financial managers and cost centre managers
* Supporting the annual budget & monthly forecasting processes - working with the General Manager and cost centre managers to provide variance and overhead numbers and to challenge performance
* Supporting Senior Management with ad hoc investigations & projects to improve business performance

The successful candidate will require the following:

* CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification
* Operational/commercial accounting experience within the manufacturing industry
* Proven track record improving the bottom line of a business, advising Senior Management in the process
* Strong Excel skills
