Assistant Accountant

A high-growth financial services provider situated in the heart of Nottingham City Centre is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their established finance team.

Working within a fast-paced and energetic business, this is a great opportunity for someone studying towards an accounting qualification to gain vital exposure to a variety of accounting functions, in addition to a full financial study support package.

Being comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining the purchase ledger – inputting and reviewing all transactions
• Assisting with accruals and prepayments
• Processing expenses and conducting variance analysis
• Preparing bank reconciliations
• Supporting monthly management accounts
• Assisting with production of audit information
• Ad hoc duties

With a minimum of a years’ experience within a large finance team, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Intermediate level of Excel and Word
• Knowledge of UK GAAP
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Understanding of Oracle / Great Plains accounting systems (desirable)
• Experience within financial services sector (desirable)
