Interim Finance Assistant
Profitable subsidiary of a large international group have an immediate requirement for an AAT (or equivalent) Finance Assistant to support the FC in a 'firefighting' situation! The business have grown rapidly and the finance function is amid restructure. As such they require a versatile and proactive individual with strong core accounting skills and an ability to assist in bringing month end processes back up to speed. If you enjoy picking up a neat and tidy set of accounts, existing processes that cannot be changed, and a rigid remit of duties then this isn't for you - we need someone who can shake existing processes and improve them swiftly with logical thinking, a methodical approach to month end and a bit of elbow grease!
Supporting the FC with a variety of ad hoc and routine projects - to ensure controls exist and processes and procedures are well mapped and working slickly.
Review of AP and AR processes.
Historic review of bank reconciliation processes.
Investigating and solving mis-matching, mis-postings, errors in allocation.
Intercompany reconciliation - review and improvement of process.
Aged debtor review.
Supplier query resolution.
The role suits an individual who can unpick errors and add strong process and controls. In short your project is designed to overhaul the processes, clean and tidy the accounts - embedding a clear month end plan that is fit for purpose.
You will be a proactive, hands-on and calm problem-solver with strong fundamental accounting knowledge. Experience of an interim role focused on 'sorting somewhat of a mess' would be highly beneficial! This is a great business that need support - you will enjoy having a big impact in a short space of time. AAT would be beneficial. You must be able to start immediately and commit to a contract of minimum 3 months.
