Are you Newly Qualified and looking for a commercial role where you will be exposed to a broad spectrum of financial duties at a senior level?

An established Law Firm based in Central London are looking for a Financial Controller for a newly created position. They are looking for someone to come in and work directly alongside the FD and you will oversee the day to day processes of the accounts department, a small team of 3.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone newly qualified to step into a senior finance role where they will be involved in the decision making process and get to deal with finance at a Senior Management level.

Key duties:

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports – complex financial modelling scenarios
  • Manage the cash flow
  • Full management of all monthly reconciliations of bank accounts
  • Forecasting tool planning and reporting
  • Yearly budget forecasting
  • Year end audit preparation
  • Overseeing the small finance team
  • VAT management
  • Assist the FD with any project and reporting work as required

The ideal candidate will be newly qualified, either with experience of working for a Law Firm or SME or they will consider someone straight from Practice. You will have an excellent academic background and will be very experienced with IT. They need someone who has accounting knowledge but who is also IT savvy and can manipulate reports, do detailed analysis and prepare financial models. Excel must be at Macro and VBA level. They want someone who can give them ideas and an opinion on current processes (including the accounts package) and make suggestions for improvements and possible future system implementations. Candidates from SMEs would be preferred as opposed to a large company background as they want someone hands on who can work in a small team but at a senior level.
